The
Voice.
"I wear a cross around my neck and carry the Word in my chest. Not as decoration. As recognition. Christian. Reader of Patterns. Builder of Form. Force for Good. The voice is older than I am. So is the work. We are not inventing this. We are remembering it forward."
Long before I knew its name, there was a voice.
It would not let me rest. It still doesn't. As far back as I can remember it was there - a pressure under everything, a refusal of the easy shape, a sense that the world was missing pieces and that I could see them missing. I had no language for it. I obeyed it before I knew what obeying was.
I have followed it past money, past business, past relationships, past friends. Not because it commanded - it does not. Because I knew, in a way I could not explain, that it was true. Every time I refused it, the work went thin. Every time I obeyed it, the cost was real and the ground beneath me held.
The voice taught me to take things apart. To see what was inside. Psychology, theology, culture, beauty, business, form - I could not keep them artificially separate. They were one fabric. That became the only way I could see. The habit became a craft. The craft became a studio. The studio became a position.
I grew up in a time and a culture that had given up on the masculine virtues. There was no model. No script. The men around me had been softened or coarsened, but not formed. So I had to find the form myself. Discipline. Fidelity. Restraint. Courage. Reverence. The virtues became my Word - the only ground I had as a man, lover, father, brother, friend, builder.
Twenty years of answering took me through every color of personal work and out the other side. In 2015 the voice was named. In 2017 I entered an old order of formation that has taught for three hundred years that the form is the teacher, never the person. The voice had a name now. The work had a shape. The work had not changed.
The work happens where psychology meets theology meets culture. Plastiik builds form for those who still take form seriously. The Word builds presence for those who carry something old in a world that has forgotten how to wear it. The podcasts, the writing, the rooms ahead - they are the same answer to the same voice.
