Let us call this - an open letter to my Muslim brothers and sisters in the Western world.
Recently, Yaqoub Ali - lecturer, former Islamist, gang member and leader of 'The Call to Islam' - whom I do not know, but whose voice I value here - wrote an article that should set off every alarm.
He described a new generation of Muslims in Denmark, represented by a young man, born in Odense, with words that do not mince.
They went something like -
"We bow only to Allah… We rise with the Quran in hand… We shall rule with character, with will, with Islam in our hearts."
You can read and hear them in the article I link to below.
It does not quite sound like cooperation.
And certainly not like integration or assimilation.
It sounds like the age-old familiar language of domination mentality that Islamism unfortunately still suffers from.
And as Yaqoub Ali points out - "...if a Dane in Iraq said the same thing about Christianity, he would not survive the night..."
The video has over 600 positive reactions - and we know thousands share the view. This is a new generation, born here, raised here - but with a faith that teaches them to see Denmark as something to be conquered - not something they are part of.
It is sorrowful and should make anyone sad.
But it is also a call for clarity and precision. And this is exactly what makes it necessary to write the following -
My brothers and sisters,
I know many of you are used to feeling misunderstood.
But I understand you better than you might think. Because I am a believer myself. I know what it is to live one's life with God as the highest authority, and how faith reaches into everything - into family, into daily life, into society. I know how it feels when one's faith is not just a private matter, but a framework for all existence.
I therefore also understand how it can be experienced as a humiliation when one lives in a culture where one's own God, one's own laws and one's own way of ordering the world must always subordinate itself to another.
I understand it can feel like living on one's knees. It can feel humiliating. And I know what it does to a man when he must watch every day as his own order, his own law and his own ideal stands at the bottom of the hierarchy.
I also know it is especially hard for those of you born here in the West. You have grown up in a society where everything around you - the language, the school, the culture, the friends - is Western.
But at home you have been raised according to another culture, with other values, another morality and another view of the human being.
And that splits.
Because you carry two souls within you - the Western one, which you are born into and surrounded by when you venture out into the world - and the Islamic one, which you have been raised to remain faithful to.
I understand it can feel like belonging nowhere.
I know this - even though my own faith aligns with the foundation Western culture is built upon, and it is therefore far easier for me. But I still understand and sense it.
And precisely because of this, it is important to say the truth about what some of you experience.
The resistance you feel in the West is not directed at you as persons. It is not hatred of your skin colour, your customs, traditions, particular dress or your birthplace.
It is the very soul of this place you are colliding with.
A soul that has been shaped by millennia of Christianity, philosophy, struggle for freedom, Enlightenment and Western thought.
A soul built on the idea that the human being is born free, that the state serves the individual - not the reverse - and that faith cannot be imposed by the sword or the law.
That soul is not Middle Eastern.
It is not Islamic.
And it has no plans to bend.
I sense that many of you look at the West through media and think -
"What on earth has happened to them?"
An observation that I and many other Westerners incidentally partly share.
You see decadence, self-hatred, gender confusion, spiritual decay, loyalty to a fabricated climate god and weakness dressed up in garments of soft tolerance and misunderstood inclusion.
You see a people who appear hollow and burnt out - who have lost faith in God, themselves, a common order and their culture.
And therefore some of you perhaps think in arrogance -
"This we can easily take over. They are opening the doors themselves, because they no longer fill their own society with common meaning, direction and spirit."
And when you look through the media's narrow reality-distorting lens - you are right.
But let me tell you the other half of the truth -
The loud, confused minority you see in media comprises only a small part of the population.
Behind them stand the 95% who seldom participate in debate, but who still carry a deeply rooted worldview - a clear understanding of how society should be ordered, and what is worth defending.
And they will not surrender it.
Therefore it is imperative you understand this, when you hear someone speak of "ruling" -
Denmark - and the Western world - has never been, is not, and will never become Islamic societies.
Our laws, values, rights, freedoms and culture are not built for, and will NEVER submit to, sharia.
If one wishes to live fully in accordance with Islam, there are over 50 countries in the world where sharia is the foundation of society. And it is everyone's free right to go there and live their life. Here in the West that is not the case, and it will not become so.
And let me simultaneously be completely clear, so the coming years do not take you by surprise.
Many of the measures and concessions that have been given over the last 40 years in an attempt to accommodate Islam will be withdrawn in the coming decades. Because the populations of the West have begun to understand that far too much has been given away, without anything coming back.
It is not personal but concerns patterns, structure and culture.
Naive politicians believed that Muslims in the West would rewrite the Quran - that you would bend it gradually and change your God's word. We can smile a little at that together, but that is what they imagined - quite honestly - in their lack of their own faith and understanding of yours. Forgive them. They did not understand, or had forgotten, the depth of what faith is and does.
Measures will be introduced that slow, stop and in all likelihood close mosques - because they function as centres of power for a culture and a faith that works in the opposite direction of the society the Western-oriented world wishes to preserve and pass on.
And here comes what is important for you to understand.
This is ONLY necessary for one reason. That Islam will not - and perhaps cannot - time will tell - reform itself.
Where Christianity and other religions have been able to change and enter into a modern world, Islam has again and again shown that it returns to the idea of dominance. As we see clear voices express both domestically and in the rest of Europe.
Islam will not be secularised - it wants to rule and transform society. That is why integration is not merely difficult, but in its full form impossible. And why you collide with the unbending soul that not only resists here - but will rise larger and larger the more it is awakened.
Try to see the difference, seen through Western eyes - then it becomes more visible.
In the West, Christians, Jews, Hindus, Buddhists, Sikhs and atheists live side by side in peace - because they all accept that the West's FOUNDATION is what makes freedom possible.
None of these religions attempt to reshape the entire society in their image. They accept the framework - and therefore they can coexist and live in peace.
Islam is the only one that again and again insists on dominating instead of coexisting.
No modern society or culture will accept that - least of all that it grows. As we all know it does.
And you can look at history if you want assurance that this is what will happen. Because it is not the first time it occurs.
When Islam attempted to gain foothold in Spain, in the Balkans and in Central Europe, it was stopped. Churches were raised, mosques were closed or converted, and the West voted hard against it and maintained its own soul.
The same will happen again, because it is not merely politics - it is a historical necessity.
And therefore to you who are born here as descendants.
I believe that by far most people wish you well - but they cannot and will not accept the desire for dominance and takeover that runs underneath in the anchoring of the faith.
So you have a choice you must make.
Either you can continue to fight for a faith that will never be able to reform itself enough to coexist fully with the West - and thereby forever live in division and conflict with the place you were born.
Or you can choose to let yourselves be shaped by the Western soul that already lives in you, and find a place in the society that has carried you your whole life until now.
If Islam one day can reform itself, this choice will not be necessary.
But because it cannot, or will not - and because the structure of social control allows the most dominant and violent to keep all the rest of you in check - it is not you, but the West, that determines the rules of the game here.
It is not hatred from the West's side - but love for what exists that they love. That foundation and basis which all Danes, Scandinavians and Europeans emerge from through endless generations.
It is self-preservation.
And it is unalterable.
With best intention - from one who wishes to see each and every one of you flourish and live your best life in freedom and peace.
---
And to everyone else -
Yaqoub Ali is right. We risk losing Denmark bit by bit. Not to bombs or open violence - but to a domination mentality that smiles politely while it prepares the next step and plays the long game, while we discuss nonsense.
Therefore clarity like the above is necessary. Not to reject Muslims as human beings or their place among us - but to reject Islam as a system.
Not to deny anyone a life here - but to deny an ideology the right to rule.
Anyone who thinks knows it.
The Western soul does not bend.
It never has.
Not for political rulers.
Not for demagogues.
Not for religious leaders.
And never for a law-religion or ideology that wants to subjugate the world.
