A teaching post about antisemitism, anti-Zionism, and how modern campaign material is constructed so it can slide into public discourse under innocent language.
Because it's necessary.
And a personal statement at the end about what it means when that kind of material is carried into my own country.
Because that, too, is apparently necessary.
As screenshots for this text I've attached a comment I received in a thread yesterday. The same text was shortly after posted as a standalone post where I was mentioned and called out by name.
I've chosen to place it here because it contains all the elements currently circulating in a certain type of campaign material. Most of you have probably seen similar texts on Facebook, X, TikTok, or in comment sections under news articles, so you know the pattern.
This is the package in pure form.
I won't respond to it as an attack, though it seems intended that way, since I'm also to be addressed and tagged directly in the person's own posts.
Instead I'll use it as an occasion to show what it actually is, how it's constructed, and what you should look for if you want to learn to read it. And at the end I'll say something directly to the person who wrote it, and something directly about the country I stand in.
Because let me say it immediately. This is not a spontaneous comment from an upset individual. It's thoroughly composed campaign material, formatted with campaign hashtags, deposited under an anonymous name that signals Palestinian heritage without bearing responsibility. None of it is accidental. It's signature, and once you've seen the signature first, the rest of the text is easier to see through.
It's worth learning for anyone who otherwise follows along here on the page.
I unpack it in four movements. First name and hashtags, because they tell where the material comes from. Then the central operation the text performs, because it determines what the package actually aims to achieve. Then three concrete examples of where the package displaces history, and then the most important thing - what the text doesn't say, because the omissions reveal the intention more clearly than the claims do.
At the end I'll speak directly. First to the person who wrote the post, because there's a human being behind it, and because the path that leads away from darkness deserves to be named. And then to everyone reading along, about what it means that such packages are carried into my country, my people, my heritage. It's time to say it aloud.
Let's begin.
Profile name and hashtags
The profile name "Mine Forældres Søn" is a direct Danish translation of the Arabic 'ibn waledayya' or 'ibn ahli'. It's a formulation that draws on the Arabic nasab tradition, where identity is inheritance and lineage, X son of Y, son of Z, back through the line. In Palestinian political context this type of formulation is used specifically to invoke the heritage narrative. "I am not an individual, I am bearer of a line, a land, a homeland". It's the emotional infrastructure behind "right of return". It's not an accidental choice of pseudonym. It's signal to those who know the code - and camouflage to those who don't.
Now you know the code too.
The profile picture isn't accidental either. It shows an illustration with the text "Always With The Oppressed" and "Eco-socialist". It's not a personal photo. It's a political signature, chosen deliberately as public identity. It places the sender in a certain activist tradition, where the world is read through the oppressor-oppressed schema, where anti-Zionism is a core doctrine, and where climate cause, anti-capitalism, and anti-imperialism melt together into one unified political project. It's precisely the framework where packages like this are produced and circulated. The profile picture thus not only confirms the sender's position, it confirms that the text is not a random private utterance, but a piece of material written within a specific ideological tradition.
The hashtags tell the rest of the story.
#DismantleZionism is the most revealing. It doesn't mean "criticize Israeli policy". It means dismantle the state. It's not peace, it's termination. It's the hashtag version of "from the river to the sea". Erasure of Israel.
#LandBack is adopted from Native American activism in North America and transferred to the Israel-Palestine conflict since 2020 to frame Israel as settler colonialism on par with European colonization of America. It's an analogy that borrows moral weight from one cause to another, where the structure is fundamentally different. The Jews didn't come from Europe to colonize the Levant. They returned to an area where their people have documented continuous presence for 3000 years, and where Jews were already in the majority in Jerusalem in 1844.
#ZionismeErIkkeJødedom is the standard formula used to exempt anti-Zionism from the accusation of antisemitism. In itself that sentence is correct. Judaism and Zionism are not the same thing. But in this package's context it functions as rhetorical camouflage for an attack that actually hits both. Not just the state of Israel, but the Jewish people's right to exist as a people with self-determination.
#Birobidzhan is the fingerprint that points most clearly to the specific literature the text is drawn from. It's a standard reference in the Norman Finkelstein/Ilan Pappé tradition, used to suggest that Zionism is an imperialist construction rather than a refugee project.
Together with the name "Mine Forældres Søn" it draws a complete picture that's hard to overlook. It's not a spontaneous reaction to what I write. And it's not an attempt at conversation.
It's a piece of campaign material, formatted to be screenshotted and shared onward, deposited in a thread under an identity that signals Palestinian heritage without bearing name or responsibility.

The central operation
The central operation in the entire text is an inversion. In the same way inversions are happening in many places in Western public discourse right now, where words and categories are turned upside down to make criticism impossible to formulate. We've already been over several of them in preceding weeks.
The intention is - and hold on here, because it's quite a magic trick to attempt - to make Zionism into a form of antisemitism.
Because if that succeeds, then antisemitism as an accusation is neutralized, Jewish self-determination is dismantled as illegitimate, and victim status is transferred solely to the Palestinians.
Read the text again with that in mind. Because what you're reading is not an analysis. It's a unified political operation, using real historical fragments put together in a specific sequence - some true, some distorted, some outright lies - with systematic omissions.
Let's take three concrete examples, so as not to have to write an entire book.

Herzl's meeting with von Plehve in 1903
The text presents Herzl's meeting with Russian Interior Minister von Plehve as an alliance between Zionists and antisemites with the same goal. This is a gross displacement.
Herzl met von Plehve four months after the Kishinev pogrom, where 49 Jews had been murdered and hundreds tortured with state complicity. He wasn't negotiating as an equal partner. He was negotiating as a desperate leader of a people under acute persecution, trying to get the Russian state to pressure the Ottomans to open Jewish immigration to Palestine, and simultaneously stop the pogroms.
In Herzl's own diary after the meeting he wrote: "I stand before the nation as its desperate servant, not as its master."
To present that as "the boot working together" is not history. It's caricature. And misreading.

The Ha'avara Agreement in 1933
The text presents the Ha'avara Agreement as Zionist collaboration with Nazism. Let me give the actual context.
In 1933 NO ONE knew that Nazism would lead to the Holocaust. The Nuremberg Laws came first in 1935. Kristallnacht in 1938. The Wannsee Conference, where the genocide was formalized as murder plan, was in January 1942. Auschwitz - some of you may have visited - as death camp became operational from 1942.
What was known in 1933 was that Jews were being persecuted through boycott, exclusion from work, and confiscation of property. It was serious enough to create a refugee stream. But it wasn't genocide.
And the entire Western world in that period treated Hitler as an ordinary, albeit really unpleasant, head of state.
British Prime Minister Chamberlain negotiated personally with him right up until Munich in 1938. The Daily Mail under Rothermere wrote tributes. Henry Ford received the Grand Cross of the German Eagle in 1938. The Olympic Committee held the summer games in Berlin in 1936. And as late as January 2, 1939, the same year war broke out, TIME Magazine put Hitler on the cover as "Man of the Year" for 1938.
If TIME Magazine in January 1939 could still place Hitler on the cover, then it's grotesque to criticize Zionist leaders in 1933 for not having foreseen the genocide that wasn't formally planned until 1942.
In that situation the Zionist movement faced a concrete problem. German Jews were being persecuted and expropriated. The British restricted immigration to Palestine. The USA had closed quotas. Most countries closed their doors. If you stayed in Germany, you lost everything. If you fled, you also lost everything.
Ha'avara was a negotiation about a mechanism. German Jews could transfer parts of their fortune to Palestine as goods, in exchange for entry permits.
The agreement saved between 50,000 and 60,000 German Jews from what later became the camps. It's a tragically pragmatic action in a catastrophic situation, NOT an alliance.
The text presents it as if saving lives was a betrayal of those who died because they couldn't be saved. It's a way of thinking that makes every single attempt to save people from genocide into complicity in the genocide. That way of thinking is not moral. It's obscene. Human dignity turned upside down.

The Partition Plan in 1947
The text presents Jewish land ownership in 1947 as "only 6-7 percent" and the UN partition plan as allocation of "55 percent of the land" to a minority.
It's a juxtaposition that hides three things. First that "owned" was one legal category in a mandate period where large areas were state land without private owner. Second that the partition was made based on demographic reality, where Jews were in the majority or substantial number in the allocated areas, plus the uninhabited Negev desert. And finally that the UN resolution was adopted with a clear majority, 33 to 13, and that the Arab side rejected it and started the war.
To present the partition as theft and ignore the rejection is to tell half the story.

And then to everything the points don't say and therefore omit.
Because the most important thing is actually not what the text says that's wrong, but what it fails to say - because that's how you can talk yourself into it as a place you want to stand and create identity and belonging.
It doesn't mention October 7, 2023, when 1,200 people were murdered in one day, women raped, hostages taken. It doesn't mention the 1988 Hamas Charter, which explicitly calls for killing Jews globally. It doesn't mention the 850,000 Jews expelled from Arab countries between 1947 and 1970, whose property was confiscated without compensation. It doesn't mention the Arab rejection of partition in 1947, or the war started by five Arab states the day after Israel's declaration. It doesn't mention the 1967 Khartoum Resolution - "no peace, no recognition, no negotiation". It doesn't mention Camp David 2000 or the Olmert offer in 2008, where Israel offered 97-98 percent of the West Bank plus territory exchange, and where both were rejected. It doesn't mention the Iranian regime's financing of Hamas, Hezbollah, Houthis and open declarations about Israel's annihilation. It doesn't mention that Jews have documented continuous presence in the area for 3000 years, or that Jerusalem had a Jewish majority already in 1844, four decades before Herzl was born.
It's a text that chooses its facts the way a lawyer chooses witnesses. It's not history. It's a legal brief on behalf of one party, where the prosecutor is also judge.
It's an attempt at the same damaging way of thinking we see in European identity politics.
To make complicated, messy, nuanced history with hundreds of variables into a simple binary narrative.
That reduction always ends in the same place. One people is designated as bearer of evil. Another is lifted up as bearer of innocence. The rest is cut away as noise. It's not an analysis. It's the oldest political mechanism there is, and in every single generation it has produced the same outcome. First simplification. Then enemy image. Then violence.
We should know that by now.

And then to the person behind - and to what I actually want to say.
Behind this post is a human being. A human being who has gathered these fragments, has put them in sequence, has chosen the anonymity and the veiled name, and has pressed post. Both as comment and as post where I'm called out.
That human being presumably carries real pain. Real grief over a conflict that has cost lives on both sides, and where Palestinian people have suffered. That pain is real. It's not something I dismiss. On the contrary.
But pain is not the same as truth. And when the pain becomes a package with #DismantleZionism and #LandBack, which only contains one people's suffering, and which systematically omits the other people's, then it's no longer grief. Then it's ideology. And it's an ideology that transforms real compassion into hatred, and real criticism into something that resembles the very oldest pattern we've seen again and again for 2000 years.
I don't know who's behind it. The person doesn't have to tell me either.
But if you're reading this, then know that I'm not writing any of what I do to win over you. I'm writing it because you're a human being, and because you've slipped into a darkness that doesn't lead home.
Home is not choosing sides between two peoples who both have roots in the same soil.
Home is telling the truth about both!
The population that today calls itself Palestinians bears genetic and cultural continuity with people who have lived in the area for three thousand years. The Jewish people have documented continuous presence in the same area for three thousand years. They're related. DNA research shows it, which your text itself cites, but only halfway.
Both peoples are home there. One is not foreign. The other is not invisible.
The honest conversation begins there. Two peoples. Same root. Same land. Everything else is displacement.
You're allowed to be angry. You're allowed to grieve. You're allowed to be critical of Israeli policy, I won't interfere with that.
But you do NOT have the right to rewrite history so the other people disappears. It's the same people who for 2000 years weren't allowed to be, and who now, every time they try to be, are met with a package like the one you post - and try to get others to buy - which says they don't have the right to that either.
Put the package down. Put the hashtags down. Put the pseudonym down. Speak as yourself. Say your name.
Speak as Human.
That's the only way that leads home.
To Denmark

And then I want to say this finally.
To everyone reading along, and to the person who wrote the post, because you yourself come rising with precisely that profile name.
You come to my country, my people, my heritage, my lineage, my culture and my faith.
And you bring discord that concerns a conflict four thousand kilometers from here, which none of us have a share in, and which no family here should be drawn into.
I would be cautious about adding more fuel to that fire.
It awakens forces that have lain dormant in Europe for a long time, forces which it cost our forefathers the highest price to bring under control.
No one wants them awakened again.
Especially not those who are massively outnumbered.
In best intention.
