I do not remember a single period in my 47 out of 51 years on this earth when anyone in Denmark or the rest of Europe had problems with Jews.
Other than fools with low IQs.
It was distant to us. Because we had learned.
After the Second World War, the darkest demon in European history - Nazism - was not merely defeated militarily, but morally and culturally.
We cast light upon it. We saw its essence in full illumination - the irrational hatred, the collective possession, the industrial extermination of a people. And we agreed, in horror and contempt, that this must never happen again.
It was a historical advance. Europe confronted antisemitism, ridiculed it, exposed it, and fought it wherever it showed itself.
But - we never undertook the same reckoning with the other totalitarian ideology of the 20th century - communism.
For while Nazism was the enemy in the west, communism was the ally in the east. The Soviet Union helped us crush Hitler, and thereby the ideological sister of Nazism - Marxism - slipped through our moral filter.
In the decades that followed, Marxism mutated. It left the factory and the proletariat and instead sought out the universities, the media, and the cultural institutions. It took new form - postmodernism, identity politics, intersectionality. Inverted morality as we know it today. But the core remained the same - a binary division of the world between victims and oppressors and a hatred of everything that represented tradition, hierarchy, religion, nation, and faith.
And in this inverted morality, the children of the West - ignorant and well-meaning - began to open the doors for forces that for centuries had been hostile towards - all things considered - everything the West stood for.
Motivated by guilt, conscience, and the Marxist-inspired idea that the strong always owes the weak, Europe imported millions of people from cultures that were not merely foreign to our values - but in many cases directly hostile towards Jews, Christians, and the entire secular order that sprang from Christianity.
The intellectuals called it, in their bohemian fogs, "diversity" and "solidarity." They called it "humanism."
But in reality it was an unconscious self-abandonment.
Those who warned against the consequences - loss of cohesion, dissolution of values, growing antisemitism - were systematically and as an automatic response branded as "far-right extremists," "Nazis," or "racists."
Ironically - for precisely that word - Nazi - which the West had once used to combat antisemitism, was now turned against those who tried to warn of its return in new disguise.
And today we stand here -
Jews can no longer move safely through Nørrebro.
The synagogue in Copenhagen must be guarded around the clock.
Jewish businesses hide their symbols. Jewish children cannot play a football match.
And in Sweden no cinemas in Malmö - a city where over 40 percent have foreign backgrounds, and where antisemitism is a growing problem documented in both Swedish and international reports - dare participate in a Jewish film festival, because they prioritise their employees' safety.
But what we see now is not a revival of Europe's old antisemitism. It is something new.
It is not National Socialist, but imported - carried by ideologies and belief systems that for generations have nurtured a religious and cultural hatred of Jews, and which have now gained foothold in Western cities.
It is a phenomenon that could only arise because the West - in its own guilt and self-contempt - removed its natural boundaries, both geographically and morally.
Therefore this is not a repetition of the past, but a consequence of a new historical blindness - the belief that one can build tolerance upon the very forces that despise it.
It says everything.
It says that Europe has turned its gaze away from reality. That our self-understanding has become so distorted by postmodernism's guilt logic that we can no longer defend our own citizens - or acknowledge the reasons why they are no longer safe.
For in the Marxist worldview it is no longer actions that are judged, but identities.
And when "the victim" by definition is always right, and "the strong" always wrong, then it becomes possible for hatred to return - and pretend it is "justice".
So we stand with a population that for decades has been brainwashed to believe that it is moral to yield, moral to dissolve oneself, and moral to import one's own downfall.
And thus we have arrived here, where Europe - for the second time in a century - has allowed hatred of Jews to once again sprout and flourish in the streets, in the schools - and yes, in some places - in the media.
But this time it does not come from brownshirts, marching boots and swastikas.
It comes from mosques, from Islamist environments, and from the ghettos and parallel societies that politicians allowed to grow in the midst of our own cities. It comes from a religious ideology that for centuries has taught that the Jew is the enemy - and which today feels strengthened by the West's weakness.
And it is reinforced by a left wing that in its own guilt-intoxication protects the hatred, because it fits into their narrative about "oppressed minorities".
The result is a grotesque historical paradox -
That the civilisation which once liberated the Jews and made antisemitism a moral taboo, now bows its neck to the oldest antisemitism of them all - the Islamic one.
Jews are now leaving Sweden, France, Belgium and Germany in growing numbers. They are not fleeing from "Nazis" - but from Islamists. From hate preachers who preach in Europe on European soil. From politicians who would rather stay silent than admit the connection. And from institutions that still call it "diversity".
The undermining of the West is almost total.
The liberals and conservatives have cowered together, the godless technocrats are without moral compass - and the left wing does not understand what they have set in motion. They sail in reverse to import more who hate us. So they themselves can get that warm feeling in the stomach and feel good.
And the spiritual leaders, priests and bishops, who ought to speak truth - from the highest place and authority - remain silent so as not to offend anyone.
But then let me be the messenger, and cut somewhat towards truth and clarity -
The totalitarian law-religion or -ideology - whether it calls itself Islamism or communism and its many modern cousins - demands the same thing everywhere it gains foothold -
Submission.
And if we do not find the courage to say this aloud - without fear of being branded - then there is no longer anything to defend.
There is only the question remaining -
Will there be a Europe for your children and grandchildren?
For the Jews are only the first they come for.
Afterwards - it is you.
