THE RAPE GANG INQUIRY REPORT - When a Society Feared the Word More Than the Wound

"THE RAPE GANG INQUIRY REPORT"

In England this week, another report has emerged about something the country has known for years and yet turned away from.

Let me say it plainly, because that was precisely what one was not allowed to say aloud. In town after town, through decades, organised groups of men ran chains that lured girls, many of them children as young as eleven and twelve, with attention, gifts and substances, raped them, moved them between towns and passed them from man to man. And in case after case that reached a court, and in those towns where ethnicity was recorded at all, the men were predominantly of Pakistani Muslim background.

What is strange is that it did not happen and continue in hiding, but in the midst of everything that should have intervened - the police, the schools, the social services, the health system, the politicians and the media.

Tens of thousands of girls, and a chain of adults who saw it happen.

What makes the case almost impossible to grasp is not only what was done to the children. It is that it could go on so long, while so many knew.

But that is what happens when a society hollows out its understanding of words and language and turns it against itself, so that one may no longer use words to describe reality's patterns.

And there is a particular movement, a pattern, that repeats in this case, which is what one must see before seeing anything else.

Let me try to describe it.

A name is removed from the paper. In one file it happened with correction fluid, drawn across the word for who the man was, in a case concerning the rape of children, and in most other places it happened more quietly, as a field left blank, information not written down, a question not asked. Same removal or omission of Reality - different tool.

When the same removal happens again and again, in towns that do not know each other, by people who have never spoken together, it ceases to be an individual case worker's error and becomes a pattern. For the same error committed by many who have agreed on nothing is no longer an error, but the shape of the system they all work within.

The removed name is not the crime.
It is the place where the system and the pattern become visible.

The mechanism that should protect a child is fundamentally ancient and quite simple. An adult sees that something is wrong, says it aloud, and other adults act. The entire chain, from the one who sees to the one who intervenes, rests on ONE assumption so self-evident we almost never speak of it - namely that one may say what one sees.

Remove that one assumption, and the chain does not only fall in one place, it falls all the way down, not because the people in it are monsters, but because every single link has learned that it is the naming that gets punished, not the crime.

They said they would protect the children. They ended up protecting their own right not to know.

They said never again after Rotherham, but those words marked no turning, because this is not something that stopped and then began again somewhere new. It went on before, it went on simultaneously, and it went on afterwards, untouched by what they said they had understood. The silence lay all the way through and was filled up again by new people who had not themselves done anything evil, and who precisely therefore could not see what they had become part of.

This is where it becomes uncomfortable, because it did not require evil in the word's strong sense. It required ordinary fear, dressed as decency. The fear of being called racist was made heavier than a child's scream, and the moment the accusation weighs more than the crime, the inversion is complete - because then it is no longer the man who rapes a child who is dangerous, then it is the woman who says who he is.

And the pattern runs still.
Everywhere in Europe.
Here too.
In many axes of culture.

This week a woman who herself survived it as a child was invited on television to explain why it was swept under the carpet, and was told, before she opened her mouth, not to say who the men were. Same reflex. Newer TV studio. Even more vile.

And here we stand on ground that cannot be moved, because it is not an activist saying it - it is what the report establishes.

It is the inquiry the state itself commissioned. It established that one had retreated from the perpetrators' ethnicity, that it is not racist to investigate it, and that it simply was not recorded for two-thirds of the men.

Notice what that means.

It was NOT ignorance. It was an ignorance that was chosen. And there, where the numbers actually existed, locally, they pointed to a particular place, and that particular place was precisely what the correction fluid was for.

That is how reality was not allowed to be or be described. Because it contradicted the fabricated reality one wished to be true.

Now the same state is reopening over a thousand cases it itself closed. That admission is the entire accusation gathered in one movement, because a case can only be closed by someone who chooses to close it.

And here the British cease to be the only ones in the picture. Because that movement - a name that is removed, a field left blank, a question not asked - is not English. It is human, and it exists everywhere the fear of a word is allowed to weigh heavier than a child.

We do not know whether the same pattern exists here. But something that emerges by itself in town after town, independently of each other, and which was nowhere named until someone did so despite it potentially costing them everything, should make every European country begin today.

Not because we know it is here, but because the British never lacked evidence. They lacked the courage to look.

British girls were not failed by lack of knowledge, but by a society that feared the word more than the wound. And that fear speaks Danish as fluently as English.

❤️‍🔥🪽

And let me add this, because there is one more link.

Those who said it aloud, while it still cost.

The same class that hid reality away used all its force for two decades to crush those who kept pointing to these cases, publicly and again and again.

They did not try to disprove them. No. One used all forces to crush them. Take their name and make it something that contaminates, so no one can stand beside them without themselves becoming unclean.

And that is where the Machine is most efficient. It does not merely punish the one who points, it makes his name so toxic that even those who know perfectly well he was right choose to be silent. And once the messenger is made radioactive, no one need answer what he said anymore. One need only mention him, and the room closes, and the silence afterwards resembles agreement. It is the opposite. It is fear that has learned to resemble peace.

First the perpetrator's name was removed from the file. In the end it was the one who pointed at him whose name one no longer dared say.

It is the same correction fluid, reached all the way to the top.

And it must stop.

NOW.
