Is life harder if you're ugly?
Yes. That's probably fairly accurate.
The problem is considerably amplified, however, if you're also stupid.
Because then there isn't even the consolation that the inner takes over around forty, where the outer has evened out for most people anyway.
It gets even worse if you've on top of that contracted a mental disorder. Like woke. Because then you're no longer just ugly and stupid, you're ugly, stupid and offended about being ugly, and you can use an entire podcast to explain that your lack of results is really a structural problem that others ought to feel bad about.
And one might think it couldn't get worse.
But it can.
If on top of all that you've chosen a field in which there isn't a single paid job, for example critical queer theory for African transsexual tribal dancers.
Because then you end up in addition - poor.
Ugly. Stupid. Distorted on the first floor. And poor.
So there you stand with your appearance, your disappointment and your master's degree, and the only place in the country that will hire you.. is Politiken.
Which explains a fair bit about Politiken.
But that's probably another post.
Most who choose that path - end up in addition without a partner and childless.
Which statistically shortens both health and lifespan.
And down that route often follows a slightly unkempt and slovenly life - since you have no one to make yourself presentable for when self-respect and self-image aren't enough.
🤷🏼♂️
One could of course also just start by changing one's appearance - and turn the rest of the pile from there. One by one.
But that's probably a hegemonic, patriarchal, oppressive structure created for THE TOXIC MALE GAZE - so that route is probably blocked.
You have to watch what you believe in.
It's also why I write so much about FAITH.
The ancient texts have many - and superior - answers to everything that's going on in this time.
Answers you don't need to go to church, run around with rosaries, get a university degree or pray five times a day to understand.
