Those who call criticism of Islam hateful do not - read: CANNOT - have the faintest understanding of what a totalitarian political law-religion is and how its worldview functions.
That is it.
Islam is not just a religion.
It is a civilisational totalitarian expansive social model.
A way of organising that encompasses the entire society. No one is excluded and no one can stand outside.
It is God. Politics. Legislation.
And submission to all three.
In one package.
There currently exists no version of Islam where these parts are separated - as we in the Western world did with Christianity.
There is ONLY Islam.
No gradations - and no version where you are judged by other standards or interpretations. For the system does not allow it, since even moving a comma would be to transgress against the scripture, as it is God-given - and therefore infallible.
Most secular cultural Christians do not understand this - quite obviously - and perhaps understandably so. They grew up in freedom and with voluntariness woven into their Western worldview - the right to choose for themselves. To express themselves. To criticise and ridicule faith, law, and politics alike. To pick up their faith as a Saturday snack - or abstain from it entirely.
That is not how it works inside the civilisational, colonising, and totalitarian social model that Islam is.
And therefore you cannot understand it, in any meaningful way, as you do with other religions - because it is far more invasive and totalising on a societal level.
And then it demands submission - even from those who do not believe or recognise its foundation.
This is actually one of the reasons it "works so well" - as it does.
It stretches out like an invisible net over a population and nation - and the most pure and virtuous set the standard through demands and threats for the rest.
Our problem in the Western world is not that someone comes here and believes in another God - or has another religion they wish to practise.
There is room for that.
Our challenge is that Islam is structured as far more than a religion - which is why it demands special treatment in significant ways, where the unfolding of its doctrine conflicts and is directly antagonistic to our - that is, the Western world's - values, rights, freedoms, and understanding of these.
The more it fills - because it will interfere in politics and legislation and the organisation of the entire society - the greater problems it creates.
This means ultimately - whether now or later - and allow me to suggest 'now' - that the Western world will have to choose - whether it will live on its knees before this new social model and worldview or whether it will rediscover itself, and stand firm on the three pillars we believe in here on the continent - that which forms the foundation for our social order, freedom, and flourishing -
Christianity (view of humanity, morality, dignity, voluntariness)
Greek philosophy (reason, logic, truth-seeking)
Roman law (law, order, rights, institutions)
For it is a completely unique combination - perhaps the best of humanity in synthesis - that has taken centuries, if not millennia, to raise - which has created the most inclusive and free societies for all.
Societies that gave birth to science, liberalism, capitalism - the good, the true, the beautiful - and that which has made our part of the world shine and flourish and attract everyone from near and far.
Including Muslims who wish to flee the totalitarian theocratic countries where the full package of Islam is lived out. Who simply want their religion - their relationship with God - but do not want legislation or politics based on it.
And we betray them if we do not stand between and demand the dismantling of the combination of the three.
We are unfortunately in the process of killing our own social and civilisational model - in some misunderstood and idiotic brain-softening about inclusivity and tolerance, which has opened up for undermining of our society by the intolerant from within.
And it must stop.
We must wake from our rosy fool's world, where we both believe we ourselves must not be here - but also believe we can weave civilisational models into our fabric that - self-declared - intend to dissolve and overtake us.
In that sense I wish Morten Messerschmidt luck in putting a stop to the sectarian and hysterical automatic response that starts like a howling chorus every single time we need to discuss this.
For it is a conversation that does not stop - until we agree on who is on their knees.
