WHAT IS HAPPENING IN AMERICA NOW IS NOT A "LEFT-RIGHT" QUESTION.
IT IS A CIVILISATIONAL QUESTION.
The White House has just issued a strategic doctrine that says what many vain politicians in Europe still dare not formulate aloud -
"Who a country lets in - and in what numbers - defines the nation's future."
What I have written and asked about here for years - as a call back to realism and awakening.
America is now calling time on the epoch where uncontrolled migration could continue without regard for cohesion, security and civilisation's carrying capacity.
Why?
Because the demographic changes are so deep that they reach all the way into NATO's future.
When major European countries in a few decades become majority 'non-European', it changes -
How they see themselves.
What and whom they feel loyalty toward.
Which alliances they choose.
And what they perceive as "shared values".
It is absolutely correctly seen - and requires something close to a doctorate in ideological self-hypnosis to overlook.
Because what is happening is no longer theoretical. And it can no longer be swept away as conspiracy by politicians, media and business who want to feel good.
Now it is written into America's official foreign policy.
And notice the formulation -
"It is not certain that future European populations will view their alliance with the West and America through the same eyes as those who created NATO."
That is a very polite diplomatic way of saying - 'culture and demography create political interests'.
The chain of logic is quite simple, and anyone who went to journalism school should easily be able to follow it and pose intelligent questions about it, directed at those who have understood this self-damaging transformation of Europe -
When culture changes, the nation changes.
When the nation changes, geopolitics changes.
This is precisely what I have pointed to again and again and again. Not to point fingers and not to demonise anyone. But to remind that reality is not an ideological experiment. It reacts, transforms and shifts course when you change a population and the population carries a different faith, culture and belonging to values and order.
And if we do not take responsibility for the direction, then the direction will be taken for us.
The most interesting thing, however, is this -
America is now proposing a new European strategy that deals with -
Sovereignty.
Border control.
Cultural cohesion.
Resistance to Europe's current course.
National independence and defence.
Building up "the healthy nations" in Central, Eastern and Southern Europe.
In other words, it says that Europe must be reconquered as civilisation - from within. That is to say by us. You and me. Migration and demography have become security policy - and the survival and persistence of the unique European civilisation is once again a legitimate political goal.
It might appear, when you look at the media surface's framing, that many will try to interpret this as "extremism".
But hold fast to reality here.
It is not that.
It is responsibility.
And it is time that Europe wakes to the same insight, before reality does it the hard way.
The statement from the White House also marks something else -
The time when European politicians could hide behind tone policing, moral signalling and emotional rhetoric is over.
For three to five decades, Western Europe has been governed by a political class that believed the most important thing was to SOUND good - not to ACT wisely.
They spoke of "humanism" as if all people and all cultures automatically create the same society.
They spoke of "empathy" as if it did not also require responsibility, boundaries and long-term thinking.
They spoke of "the tone" as if the tone were more dangerous than the reality pressing in.
But reality does not care about politicians' self-images and childish vanity.
When great powers begin to change their doctrines, when migration becomes security policy, when demography becomes geopolitics - then it is no longer enough to be nice.
The epoch when one could talk one's way around the consequences is over.
Because none of what we are discussing is about feelings.
It is about civilisation.
If European politicians want to be relevant in the world now being drawn up, they must drop everything that smells of personal vanity and moral self-staging - and begin to speak of what reality demands.
Cohesion.
Security.
Borders.
Culture.
Demography.
Responsibility.
Stability.
Europe's survival as Europe.
Humane values require realistic frameworks - and without frameworks and contact with the moral and ethical framework these are built upon, the values disappear.
The time when one could play "good" without being responsible is over.
And it was certainly - in every conceivable way - about time.
