You're getting this one straight from the hip, on a walk along the beach. I'm not giving it more attention than that, because the position is so bleedingly stupid and fundamentally wrong that it doesn't deserve adult attention. But I'm giving it a few words anyway - because it allows me to point to something you need to understand, regardless of whether you stand on the right or the left.
Pelle Dragsted, political spokesman for the Red-Green Alliance, writes that Hizb ut-Tahrir is a reactionary - right-wing - organisation.
He misspells the name, twice, but leave that aside for a moment. It's not the spelling that's the problem. It's the map he's reading the world with.
Hizb ut-Tahrir works, according to their own statements and in their own documents, for the restoration of the caliphate. For an order where sharia is the constitution, where the law is not given by humans but is given once and for all, and where parliamentary democracy - the system Dragsted himself is elected into - is ABOLISHED as man-made ERROR.
They don't hide it. They say it openly, at the meetings they still hold untouched in Copenhagen, after both Britain and Australia and Saudi Arabia have banned them.
And a Danish politician looks at that and concludes that it is... right-wing.
That requires either a minor short-circuit or a lens that's clamped so tightly to the eye that you only see what you want to see.
Let me show you the error, because it's not small.
Right and left are positions within democracy. They're disagreements about tax, about distribution, about the size of the state - but they both presuppose the same space: - a constitution, a basic law, a popular government, a law humans give themselves and can change themselves.
Hizb ut-Tahrir - and Islam - is NOT a position in that space.
It is a movement AGAINST the space.
You CANNOT be placed on a scale you don't recognise and simultaneously work to abolish.
But Dragsted only has that scale. In his map there are two directions, and all evil lies by definition in one of them. So when he meets something that doesn't fit - a civilisational order with its own answer to what a Human Being is, what the Law is, and who owns the Truth - then the map automatically translates it into something familiar.
The caliphate becomes "reactionary". God's law becomes "right-wing". And the enemy becomes, as always, domestic.
You can note yourself what the translation does in his second point, because there the disconnection from reality is revealed in its totality.
There stands A CALIPHATE MOVEMENT and DANISH VOTERS side by side in the same sentence, as two equal threats to Muslim students' freedom. The man has just equated people who vote with a movement that wants to abolish the ballot, democracy, civil rights, the constitution and everything from his own party to the royal house - the entire order he himself speaks within.

Or if it's deliberate, then as disgustingly manipulative as it almost gets from the political drawer.
And meanwhile the people it's actually about stand alone. Because the pressure on the Muslim student who wants to live freely - the girl who wants to take the headscarf off, the apostate, the secular one - doesn't come from Danish right-wing populists. It comes from the social control that Hizb ut-Tahrir is the orthodox spearhead for.
That pressure Dragsted has no word for. Because his map has no direction it can be placed in.
That's why it needs to be said as simply as possible.
The caliphate is NOT right-wing.
It is NOT left-wing.
It is that which moves in when a society can no longer see the difference between its own disagreements and its own abolition.
And by all accounts, he understands about as much of this as the number of genders.
I don't care which side you vote for - but it's time Denmark and the Danes got a grip on this.
