Inversion.
When the world turns truth on its head
One of the most toxic violations against a human being is to force it to accept - or pretend to accept - that the exact opposite of reality is true.
It's not just manipulation. It's a direct assault on the very way the human being is made.
For the human being is formed to live in accordance with Logos - what we might call the Order of Truth - the deepest structure in existence, where everything connects.
When we align ourselves with it, spirit, soul, psyche, body and actions fall into harmony. We stand straight, we see clearly, and we can act with full strength, reason and conscience.
But when we are pressured to calibrate our lives according to lies, distortions and perversions, our entire inner compass tilts, because what happens is a deep breakdown of the human being's inner structure. We lose orientation, we lose direction, we lose footing - and finally we lose the courage to seek truth at all.
In these years, politicians, media, NGOs and large corporations are trying to press an artificial reality down over us - not with one big lie, but with a thousand small drips, repeated day after day, until all senses are saturated with them.
We are fed claims we know deep down are not true - but which we are rewarded for repeating, and punished for contradicting.
It's a kind of hypnotic mass induction that works like poison gas - invisible, but penetrating, until it sits in our thoughts, in our language and finally in our actions.
Some of the worst inversions of our time are -
"Diversity is our strength" - even when it means the dissolution of community, culture and cohesion.
"People can change sex" - as if biological reality is a costume you can take on and off.
"Fatphobia is the problem" - as if what destroys health is others' opinions and not the physical consequences of ignoring the body's warnings.
"Freedom of speech means we can censor hate speech" - as if freedom only applies to the opinions power likes.
"Protecting the environment requires us to restrict humans" - as if the human being is a disease and not part of creation.
"Equality means leveling outcomes" - as if justice is about manipulating results, not giving equal opportunities.
"Inequality is unjust" - as if all differences in talent, effort and choice are signs of oppression.
"Security requires surveillance" - as if freedom is more dangerous than the state that monitors everything you do.
"Tolerance means accepting everything" - as if moral judgment is the same as intolerance.
"Love means affirming everything (including in raising children)" - as if real love cannot also say no to what destroys.
"It's healthy and good for very small children to be separated from their mother 8-10 hours a day" - as if small children need care more from a 19-year-old gender-confused blue-haired pedagogical assistant who doesn't really want to be there in an institution - than security, attachment and love from their mother, so she can "realize herself" in the labor market and fit nicely into the excel-administrations' systems.
And we can probably easily find ten more examples - so just add your own.
But inversion is not just a philosophical error.
It's a psychological weapon that makes people doubt their own senses, experiences and morals. And it's only when we refuse to participate in the lie - loudly and clearly - that we can straighten ourselves up again and live in truth.
As the Soviet dissident, author and Nobel Prize winner Aleksandr Solzhenitsyn - who spent eight years in the Gulag for speaking truth to power, said - "Live not by lies."
And here comes the important part, because this is the slippery slope -
POLITICAL CORRECTNESS is the tool that keeps the inversion in place.
For this pestilence functions as an invisible wall of shame, social punishment and fear that makes people align, even when they know what they're saying is a lie.
In the Soviet Union it was actually exactly like this -
The entire system was permeated with claims everyone knew were false, but which everyone repeated anyway, because it was dangerous not to. They called it 'samizdat' when truth was passed on in secret, while public reality was one big facade of lies.
We're heading into the same thing - I sense it because many write to me privately, instead of commenting because 'it costs too much' - just with new words and new slogans.
The Bible describes this condition clearly, by the way.
Paul calls it "exchanging the truth of God for a lie" (Romans 1:25). Jesus calls Satan "the father of lies" (John 8:44) - not just because he lies, but because his power is built on TURNING TRUTH ON ITS HEAD.
The goal of inversion is not just to make you believe something wrong.
Its goal is to make you deny what you know deep down is true - because the moment you do that, something breaks in your soul, and you become easy to control.
At bottom, inversion serves one master -
The one who has always been against Logos, against truth and against the life God has created.
Therefore the fight against inversion is not just political or cultural - it's a spiritual battle.
And we must choose whether we will bow to the lie or stand in Truth - whatever it costs.
