The two first places point in opposite directions.
Switzerland is almost always mentioned with the same words - local democracy, direct democracy, citizens who have real power over their own country. It is a longing for less top-down control.
Poland is about something else - borders, values, a state that wants its own population first.
Japan, Finland and Hungary follow.
And a small faithful group answers Denmark - we can still learn most from ourselves. 😅
What emerges is not one country. It is two longings - for more self-determination from below, and for a state that dares to stand by itself.
Perhaps that is where the conversation actually lies.
